2015/03/30	dreger	A new storage system primarily for simulation data is available for use by members of the hpc-users system group. Total capacity of storage is 120 TB with daily backup and at least one month of backup history. You can access the system from Linux hosts at `/net/data/<username>` and from Windows or MacOSX at `\\data.physik.fu-berlin.de\<username>`.
2015/03/30	dreger	The system group for users of the HPC clusters has been renamed from sheldon-ng to hpc-users. The mailinglist address has also changed. Since there are now multiple HPC clusters (currently sheldon and yoshi) the name sheldon-ng was missleading.
2015/03/18	dreger	Installation files and information for Origin 2015 (9.2) have been updated at https://software.physik.fu-berlin.de and in the wiki. The software may be used by any member of the physics department.
2015/03/16	dreger	Matlab Release 2015a has been installed on all Linux hosts. You can still access older versions by typing `matlab2014b` (or even older) in a terminal window. Installers for use on not centrally managed hosts have been uploaded to https://software.physik.fu-berlin.de.
2015/01/28	dreger	The home-server of the department has been replaced by a new system. While the former system was using an IBM DS4800 SAN as backend, the new system uses 20 internal SSDs. Overall perfomance should increase. This affects /home on Linux and H: on Windows hosts. More...
