An upgrade of the home server has been planed for quite a while. The old system is at 85% usage and the hardware is rather old. So it has to be upgraded in the near future anyway. The reason we are doing it now is that there is a hardware failure in the attached storage system which will most likely force a reboot of the home server. In the worst case it might even stop working. So we might as well move everything to a new server before trying to repair the storage system.
